Pilot Program for the Safer Recruitment of Migrant Caregivers

CIMI has supported the development and launch of a pilot program that will, for the first time, recruit migrant caregivers to Israel through a bilateral arrangement between the Government of Nepal and Israel. Partners include PIBA, DOFE, the Embassy of Israel in Nepal, CIMI and its local partner, Nyayik Sansar. The pilot will ensure safer and better regulated recruitment practices. 59 candidates recently completed a CIMI-led training course and will continue the recruitment process, ending with their potential arrival to Israel.

The bilateral arrangement aims to eliminate exorbitant recruitment fees, reduce labor trafficking risks and guarantee that caregivers' rights are protected while providing Israeli elders with experienced and capable caregivers.
